Snes9X for Mac OSX

Snes9x is one of the better SNES emulators of today. Written primarily in C++, Snes9x has been ported to several platforms and recent versions have focused on cleaning up the code and improving the emulation accuracy, with excellent results.

System Requirements:
Mac OSX 10.2 or later
Download Snes9X Now

Installing & Using Snes9X:

 1. Extract the 'snes9x-1.53-macosx113.dmg' file into your Applications folder.
 2. Download all the Roms you want into any folder.
 3. Double-click on a Rom to open it in Snes9X.
 4. Click on the green Maximize button to cycle through the available resolutions.
 5. To switch to Full Screen mode, go to 'Preferences->Graphics' and click on the
     'Full Screen Mode' checkbox.
 6. To view or edit the Keyboard layout, go to 'Config->Configure Keyboard'.

Using a game controller with Snes9X

Connecting a PS3 controller:
 1. Reset the PS3 controller by inserting a paperclip into the pinhole near the L2 button.
 2. Go to 'Apple Menu->System Preferences->Bluetooth' and make sure Bluetooth is enabled.
 3. Connect the controller to your computer using the mini-USB cable.
 4. Press the circular PS button.
 5. Wait for the controller to pair with your Mac.
 6. You should now see 'PLAYSTATION (r) 3 Controller' in the Devices list with 'Connected'
     underneath that.
 7. Disconnect the mini-USB cable from your computer.
 8. In Snes9X, to view or change the controller's layout, go to 'Config->Configure Controllers'

Connecting a PS4 controller:
 1. To use a wired PS4 controller, simply connect it to your Mac with the USB cable and
     you're ready to go.
 2. To setup a PS4 controller wirelessly, go to 'Apple Menu->System Preferences->Bluetooth'
     and make sure Bluetooth is enabled.
 3. Hold down the PS button and the Share button at the same time until the light at the top
     starts blinking quickly.
 4. Wait for the controller to pair with your Mac.
 5. You should now see 'Wireless Controller' or 'PLAYSTATION (r) 4 Controller' in the Devices
     list with 'Connected' underneath that.
 6. In Snes9X, to view or change the controller's layout, go to 'Config->Configure Controllers'

Connecting an XBox 360 controller:
 1. To connect a wired XBox 360 controller to your mac, you will need to install the
     360Controller driver.
 2. Extract the '360ControllerInstall.dmg' file from the snes9x-mac arhive.
 3. Start the installation package to install the driver.
 4. Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
 5. In Snes9X, to view or change the controller's layout, go to 'Config->Configure Controllers'
